Although she knew it was temporary and that her clan needed Windclan’s help, it still irked her. The tortoiseshell she-cat didn’t like to be in debt or owe any cat any favors. She knew that if Windclan got themselves into any trouble the first clan they would ask for help was Riverclan. It was only fair but she didn’t like it one bit. Plus living on the moors wasn’t ideal for her clan. They were lithe and fast swimmers and easier to adapt to the terrain than Shadowclan or Thunderclan but she also knew that the terrain couldn’t support both clans. Especially when leaf-bear strolled into the picture. The clan that hosted them had always been skinny sometimes to an extreme degree. Adding in another entire clan was pushing things and something needed to be done. They couldn’t go home, that was obvious and moving, although not out of the question, was an extreme measure. They had already moved once from their home and she didn’t know if the four clans would uproot and move a second time in favor of Riverclan and Thunderclan. But if such a feat happened she wondered if the clans would be divided forever. Would RIverclan and Thunderclan move on, leaving the other two clans here? Tawncrow didn’t want to think about it—the future was too grim at this point.
Yet the senior warrior was grateful that no fights had broken out and they weren’t thrown out of their territory. She wondered if any fights had broken out between the other pair of clans. Most likely, she thought as she trotted along the open plains. Although there was tension between the clans there was also peace—for how long that would last she didn’t know.
Her yellow eyes swept across the terrain. She felt exposed and unwanted. The soil beneath her paws even felt different. You better send us a sign soon, she thought, tipping her muzzle up toward the sky. It was unnatural for two clans to live side by side, it went against the warrior code and everything else the clans believed. There was a reason the four clans never united and when they did horrible things happened. Tigerstar was a prime example and an example that was beginning to fade. The she-cat was naturally suspicious of others intentions and in their current predicament so was none too thrilled. A sigh escaped her parted lips and she drew herself to a halt. Her ears perked up as she heard paw steps approaching from behind, a familiar scent putting her at ease.
