THE PLOT - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Many, many moons ago, the four Clans of the forest - ThunderClan, ShadowClan, RiverClan, and WindClan - formed four separate territories, claiming their own land and prey separately. After hundreds of years of living this way, the four Clans learned to accept the other Clans' ways and to help each other when needed.
However, a few moons ago, the cats of RiverClan noticed some increased twoleg activity at the farmhouse behind their camp; the original twolegs had moved out, and more had come in with giant monsters to tear it down. Growing leery of the increased twoleg activity, RiverClan mentioned it at the Gathering, but the other Clans ignored it since the twolegs were not disturbing them.
Then Dogstorm, the WindClan medicine cat, was sent a vision from StarClan; one that sent chills down his spine. Plagued with rushing waves of blood, she could see dozens of cats lashing their legs, struggling to stay above the surface. A giant wall rose from the ground, and the few cats that had survived the rapids were trapped. Voices from all around whispered eerily:
Like a forest divided, the waters shall rage; When four becomes two, marks the presage. An enemy thrives, evil reforms. A wrath that may only be assuaged by the aging storms.
Waking with a start, the WindClan medicine cat rushed to tell his leader, Bearstar, what he had seen. Fearful of what the dream meant the WindClan leader and medicine cat decided to share the dream with the the other leaders.
Taking no heed to the dream sent to another Clan, ThunderClan and ShadowClan scoffed at the WindClan cats. Only RiverClan was wise enough to listen to the dream, and they began to move their Clan slightly uphill, fearing a rise in the river that Greenleaf. When the cats of RiverClan and ThunderClan were suddenly awakened by a loud noise, followed by the sound of rushing water, they knew that the prophecy was coming true, and they might be in more danger than they had thought.
Dapplewind, the deputy of RiverClan, taking a few pawsteps forward, perked his ears for any succeeding sounds to the giant crash. At first, silence, but suddenly a huge flock of birds darted across the sky and a deafening rush of water followed closely behind them. Turning sharply on his paws, the RiverClan deputy yowled as he was swept into the rushing waters and his body was tossed viscously. The entire RiverClan camp was filled with water and the cats were all swept into the rushing current, struggling to keep their heads above the water, and searching for anywhere to escape its icy grip.
In ThunderClan, their camp was met with the same fate, being swallowed up by a vast tide of water. Their home, the only one they had ever known, was torn to bits by the rushing water and buried beneath a lake.
After what seemed like moons, what was left of the ThunderClan and RiverClan cats pulled themselves weakly out of the huge lake of water and dropped onto the earth. The WindClan leader and deputy stepped forward and welcomed the RiverClan cats to stay with them in their territory until things settled down. Unbeknownst to them, things would be like this for quite a while.
Pantherstar, the leader of RiverClan, although prideful, finally admitted that she needed help, and agreed to stay with the WindClan cats in their camp. They had lost so many, including the RiverClan deputy and many kits and apprentices, and they did not deserve to lose anymore. The WindClan leader then suggested to Cedarstar, the leader of ShadowClan, that they allow the surviving ThunderClan cats to move in with them until their territory was restored. Furious with the request, but not wanting a battle between them and all three other Clans, the ShadowClan leader accepted, allowing the ThunderClan cats to move into their camp as well.
After a six moons of living together, the RiverClan cats and WindClan cats grew weary of each other and many scuffles broke out between the two. In ShadowClan, the sudden discovery of the dead body of the ShadowClan leader caused great tension between ThunderClan and ShadowClan. Blaming the death of his leader on ThunderClan, Jaggedtooth, the deputy of ShadowClan, along with the rest of ShadowClan forced the ThunderClan cats out of their camp to build their own camp on the far side of ShadowClan territory.
Although the Clans are living together closer than ever, they remain further apart than ever, driven apart by their refusal to work together. WindClan and RiverClan remain in the same camp together, but keep to their own sides and remain tense around the members of the opposite Clan. ThunderClan and ShadowClan continue to share the same land, but live in separate camps, avoiding each other as much as possible while hunting and training. A giant damn blocks up the river near the Falls, and a giant lake covers what used to be RiverClan and ThunderClan.
Since it doesn't look like they'll be getting their territories back anytime soon, the Clans must continue to live together, or bear StarClan's fury. Will they be able to live together and help each other, or will they destroy each other from within?
