Appearance Burly and sly, Ashenfur is easily recognized as a typical ShadowClan cat. His dark fur and cold eyes perefectly match the stereotypes the other Clans of the forest seem to force upon ShadowClanners. He is on the more heavier side of his Clanmates, being the largest of his littermates. He has a naturally muscular build, strong and born for battle. However, being that heavy can have a downside. His speed suffers from his build; he isn’t a swift runner, usually at the back of the group when it comes to speed. His ability in battle makes up for his speed and his average hunting skills. He uses his lack of speed to his advantage and usually prefers to stay at the back, when it comes to traveling in a large group, as to make sure no cat falls behind or strays away from the pack. Although, being in a battle is completely different to him. If ordered, he’ll fight with tremendous strength and wit. His faded white and dark black fur is quite thick and shaggy, making him look a little bigger than he really is. The fur on his face is half black and half a dirty cream color. The black fur travels along his back and through his tail, while the white is more on his underbelly and legs. His dark eyes are almost unsettling, being a haunting shade of yellow. Starting at his back left paw, a battle scar travels halfway up his hind leg. Another is on his forehead, a small one, but still noticeable if you are standing close. Personality Ashenfur is driven by his fierce passion in loyalty, love, and protectiveness. His loyalty to ShadowClan can be traced back to his family heritage. Being born a pureblood ShadowClan cat overflows him with Clan pride, more so than the average warrior. The devotion he offers to his Clan is overwhelming and tends to surprise some. He’s the one volunteering for an extra border patrol when he’s already done his fair share that day, and he is usually the last of the warriors to retire to his nest at night. He is willing to do anything extra to better serve his Clan, even to the point of exhaustion. While he’s running around hunting, border patrolling, patching up a hole in a barrier, he doesn’t realize that no matter how strong he might be, he is just one cat and he has limitations. His loyalty is worthy of honor, but at times it can take a toll on him. Upon first meeting him, Ashenfur is quiet and distant. It’s because he is taking time to assess you, figure out what makes you tick, and deciding if you’re worthy of trust or not. It takes a lot to earn his respect and he rarely hands it out. However, if you’re not completely irritating to him, he won’t be so judgmental to you and the harsh stare-downs will decrease. He can be very harsh when needed, but he is open to opinions from his Clanmates. He is bold and not afraid to say what comes to his mind. Say a couple wrong things and be prepared for several harsh words. He is not very trusting of other cats, especially to ones outside his Clans. He is very skeptical of the other Clans, always wondering what they’re up to, and this makes him to be antisocial at Gatherings. He’ll utter a few words to some other Clan cats, then slink back into a group of ShadowClanners. He is generally comfortable and relaxed amongst his Clanmates, but surround him by other Clan cats and he will be harsh and hostile. Ashenfur is an intelligent tom and is always eager to learn more. Battle strategies, hunting techniques, anything that will improve his skills and make him a better warrior. He is a firm believer in that the kits and elders are the most important assets of a Clan. When a kit can teach you patience and kindness, an elder is full of available wisdom and advice. This is why Ashenfur makes it a part of his life to visit the elder’s den or the nursery every once in a while, to keep up his intelligence and just for the sheer pleasure of it. It might not look it, but Ashenfur is a big family man and looks forward for the day he finds a she-cat that’ll stand him and have his kits. When it comes to his family, Ashenfur possess a fierce love for them. He would die a thousand times for them, even if they’ve done him wrong. He is generally not a forgiving cat, do him wrong and you’ll never hear the end of it, but when it comes to his family, all his rules are lost. He is warm and kind and weak. He would do anything for them, and this is where his strong protective side comes to play. He is protective over his beloved Clan and despises when other Clan cats automatically stereotype ShadowClan. He might be overwhelming at times, but he is a strong warrior and true at heart. History Born in the prime time for breeding, the start of newleaf, Ashenkit was never alone. The nursery was full of squealing bundles of kittens and scolding mothers. He was the first to pop out of his mother’s hoohaa, and behind him came his two siblings, two little sisters. His parents were a loving couple, who were a little young to be having kittens, but they didn’t seem to take notice of that. Graycould, his mother and whom he inherited his fluffy pelt from, was ecstatic to have a healthy first litter. His father, Voleooth, was as proud as can be to have a fine young son and two daughters to raise. As they grew older, Ashenkit and his sisters- Gingerkit and Dappledkit- were inseparable. They played together, ate together, slept together. Ashenkit, being the oldest and the only tom, took it upon his four moon old self to protect and look out for his sisters. That is why, whenever they would get caught for trying to sneak out of camp, Ashenkit would stand up and take the blame. He didn’t care, as long as his sisters were content. As a kit, he was fascinated with the warriors of the Clan. He awed at the few battle techniques his father would show him when he was five moons old. To be a strong, courageous warrior was all he ever thought about. The day of his apprentice ceremony, he could hardly contain himself, wondering which brave warrior would become his mentor. He was granted with the mentorship of Gorseclaw, an experienced tom who was bordering on the edge of retirement. Ashenpaw would be the last apprentice he would mentor, but Ashenpaw was having nothing of it. How could he learn to be brave and strong with somebody as old as dirt itself was teaching him? He doubted Gorseclaw’s ability and was reluctant on their first lessons together. However, after sitting back and watching his mentor demonstrate a couple battle moves to him, Ashenpaw was taken aback. Gorseclaw wasn’t old, he was muscular and heavy, even if the fur around his nose and mouth were turning white. From that point on, Ashenpaw was as determined as any other apprentice, awaiting his lessons with Gorseclaw in high anticipation. Not only did he learn fighting and hunting techniques, Gorseclaw taught him what is was to be a true warrior, to honor and defend the warrior code, and to be a respected warrior. With the help of his wise mentor, Ashenpaw passed his assessment with ease and continued on to his warrior ceremony. A couple moons after he was made a warrior, Gorseclaw fell to the feet of greencough, the deadly illness taking his mentor’s life in a few short weeks. The newly named Ashenfur grieved for quite a while over his beloved mentor, but he knew being a courageous and loyal ShadowClanner could content Gorseclaw and his family more than anything, and that is what he did, and still does today. Roleplay Sample the warm weather was slightly overwhelming for the tom that day, and he had a feeling his fellow long-furred clanmates would heartily agree. as he attempted to escape the sun’s blaring rays, ashenfur silently scolded himself. there he was, plopped behind a shrub in the shadowclan camp, when he could be doing something useful. he was always one discouraging laziness and yet, he was breaking one of his own rules. he could argue that he had, somewhat of, a valid excuse. his shaggy gray fur felt like it was cooking in the sun’s heat, causing the tom to be rather irritable that morning. however, he had organized the patrols and been on a one already, so at least he wasn’t completely careless today. all was well within shadowclan territory, the borders safe and the prey plentiful. still, ashenfur felt a nagging under his skin, urging him to get off his haunches and do something, anything. with great force, he hauled himself off the soft ground and shook his pelt free of the dirt that clung to it. Hunting seemed like the finest option, as he could always use the improvement and the fresh-kill pile seemed to be dwindling. Guess he wasn’t the only one getting lazy in the heat. he arched his back and stretched his legs, ridding the laziness from his limbs. the burly tom began to pad towards the camp entrance, flicking his tail in a silent hello at some of the cats he passed. he would usually ask, or order, another warrior to accompany him, but ashenfur didn’t want anyone annoying him. he wanted to be alone, where no other cat could miss a kill, or even worse, try to make small talk. as he slipped through the camp entrance, ashenfur let out a content sigh as the fire on his fur was vanquished by the shade of the towering pine trees. the sun only filtered through, creating little light in the shadowclan territory, just the way the tom liked it. his stomach growled and he realized while he was too busy organizing patrols that morning, he forgot to eat. he could almost taste the tiny creatures as he made his way towards the marshes. a frog, croaking on the banks of the marsh, was unaware that his afternoon sun-basking was about to cost his life. the shaggy grey tom immediately fell to his haunches, moving around the perimeter until the back of the frog was to him. his paws sinking into the soft ground, ashenfur began to slowly creep forward. his tongue swiped across his lips hungrily and he sprang, his long claws outstretched. it wasn’t even difficult, he didn’t bat an eyelash as he brought the prey towards him. he looked down at the dead frog in his paws, tempted to take a bite, but knowing he couldn’t. he’ll take it to the elders and grab something off the pile for himself. the shadowclanner rose, the frog clamped in his jaws, and trotted back to camp. he knew, with satisfaction, that he accomplished something other than complaining that day. ooc;; hope you don't mind me bring ashy over here to post with! c:[/style][style=font-family:Arial Narrow;font-size:10px;text-align:center;margin-top:0px;letter-spacing:0px;color:#FFFFFF;]CODED BY RAIN OF ON THE EDGE![/style] |
