[style=margin:-20px 30px 10px 30px;text-align:justify;font-family:tahoma;font-size:10px;text-transform:lowercase;color:#8e8e8e;line-height:13px;]Short Appearance a black and white tuxedo she-cat with strange, pale blue eyes.
Appearance pantherstar is a medium-haired she-cat with a pelt bearing hues of obsidian and alabaster that is tinged with the auburn of sun-bleaching. her eyes are a peculiar, light azure that seem to be tinted quite heavily with grey. her back is covered in ebony fur, along with her head and her nose. a ring of white loops around her neck, and a blunt spike of white touches her eye from her similarly-colored chin, mouth, and underside. she is certainly not the largest cat that you will ever lay eyes upon; in fact, she is quite small. she makes up for this with her agility and strong legs thoroughly toned from moons of swimming. a long, thin, pink scar runs from the bottom of her chin all of the way down to the middle of her stomach, and can be clearly seen on the underside of her muzzle, but the rest is partially hidden by the thicker parts of her fur.
Personality -modest. silhouttestar is not the kind to boast about her accomplishments or rank. she's learned that cats do not like other felines who brag constantly about themselves, so she refrains from doing so. she also doesn't like drawing an enormous amount of attention to herself, but tends to end up doing it anyway, usually on accident.
-thoughtful. this she-cat is a strategist that always tries to think of situations from every angle. she has mixed such into her fighting skills to make up for her small size, and into her decisions to pull better outcomes out of them. she also has a "better safe than sorry" attitude when it comes to potentially dangerous situation. this was one of the reasons why she moved riverclan's camp up a bit when windclan warned of a flood. this reduced casualties, but she still regrets not moving it up more.
-accepting. she tries not to dwindle in the past or in the differences and changes of others too much. if someone throws a giant, life-changing secret in her face, she tries her best to accept it and move on. certain things, such as the horrid death of her deputy in the flood, do hit her harder than most, but she tries to move on and keep her chin up. she sees no benefit in being upset or unhappy about something, and tries not to hold grudges, either.
-patient. when not under too much stress, pantherstar is one of the most patient cats you'll ever meet. she loves kits (though she is not in favor of having them), and is a well-known fan of training apprentices. she is a wonderful teacher that tries not to be too hard on her students. this is not the case right now, though, as the recent events have driven her patience into a hole and buried it under a temperamental... well, female dog. at the moment, she is extremely short-tempered and tends to snap at anyone that does something wrong. it takes all she has to not do this, and at times, it isn't enough.
-stingy. for all of her thoughtfulness and modesty and accepting personality, she is very stingy about her territory. this is one reason why she doesn't like being stuck with the windclan cats in the windclan territory. every time she looks out at the body of water that used to be the land she had made her home, she feels spite for the lake and windclan, despite the generous hospitality of the latter. she doesn't like to give up what is hers much, and that includes when it comes to freshkill. she tries to let her modesty and slight humbleness take over before she takes her share, but when she does, you won't get it away from her.
-slightly paranoid & neurotic. though it may not show all of the time, pantherstep bears the unlucky feelings of paranoia and is prone to overreacting. these do not play a large part in her decisions, as they are very slight and minuscule, but they are one of her small quirks that leads her to do strange things. it was paranoia that also drove her to move the camp a tad bit higher in altitude.
-lacking in self-esteem she isn't very open about it, but pantherstar has extremely low self-esteem when it comes to her abilities to lead. she doubts herself quite often, and tends to over-think what she does. she also blames a lot of the unfortunate things that happen to her clan on herself, and is always thinking of what she could have done differently. she tries to learn from her mistakes, but even when she does, she doesn't acknowledge it. she has never expressed her concerns about herself and her leadership to anyone or anything but the dark recesses of her mind.
History -pantherkit. she was named for the black markings that were prominent at the top part of her body. she was born and raised to apprenticehood by two aging riverclan cats named fallenrain and leopardblaze. she was the runt of the litter, and made up for it with a horrible attitude and made a habit of bragging about everything and anything she did. she was always trying to prove that she was better than her other littermates, dawnkit and beekit.
-pantherpaw. because of her quite atrocious attitude and the spiraling expectations for her future, a stern but kind teacher, blazesoul, was assigned as her mentor. for the first three moons of her apprenticehood, they were at each others throats. pantherpaw hated being told what to do, and despised authority. she found that she was a very strong swimmer, but it was this that changed her life. one day, during the summer, she was swimming in the stream that separated the riverclan island from the territory. on this particular day, a two-leg factory had dumped ruined scrap metal upstream. she could not see it through the stirring waters until it sliced a thin but deep cut down her chin, chest, and underbelly.
pantherpaw was lucky that blazesoul found her washed up downstream, or she would have never lived. her mentor quickly hailed the medicine cat, and she finally began to heal after about two days of hovering between life and death. she was out of commission for about a moon before she could move freely once more. she began to love blazesoul like another mother. she was not bothered when dawnkit and beekit moved on to be dawnspring and beeblossom, and was actually a bit reluctant to move on. blazesoul had changed her life forever, and pantherstep would never forget it.
-pantherstep; warrior. the she-cat's quick reflexes and strong legs, as well as her ability to move quiet stealthily, earned her the name pantherstep. she became a prominent figure in the clan as one of their most agile warriors and best swimmers despite her size, but made several bad decisions that hindered her reputation greatly. after her parents died of natural causes, she wallowed in her immense grief for longer than she should have, and this led to the death of both of her siblings after it got the better of her. recent rains had loosened the soil, and had she not been lost in her own sorrow, she would have been able to warn dawnspring and beeblossom of the mud racing down the hill toward them.
it was then that she learned to leave the past behind her and move on. she did her best to make up for their deaths, and became as loyal and devoted as ever. at times she would falter at the horrendous nostalgia that plagued her when she revisited the spot where her siblings had died, but she always did her best to spring back. many of the riverclan cats marveled at how much she had changed since she was a kit; she had gone from arrogant and irritating to modest and respectful, and though she had her quirks, she was an excellent warrior. she ended up saving many lives during the newleaf floods from the melting snows, and it was acts like this that earned her a place as the next riverclan deputy.
-pantherstep; deputy. pantherstep immediately learned that being a deputy was a lot harder than it looked. she was immediately overwhelmed by the sudden flood of responsibilities and made the mistake of trying to do everything at once. chaos followed in her pawsteps and pursued her confused (and equally confusing) orders for about half a moon before she began taking everything one step at a time after being advised to 'take kit steps' by the leader. eventually, things fell back into order.
many forceful floods, terrible tornadoes, rivaling clan ambushes, dog difficulties, and badger attacks later, pantherstep replaced whitestar as the leader of riverclan.
-pantherstar. learning from her previous mishaps as deputy, pantherstar put her strategic tactics into play, immediately taking it upon herself, little by little, to improve their way of life. not all of her decisions yielded something beneficial, but her determination was inspiring, and her efforts were usually rewarded in some way, shape, or form, whether it was directly so or whether it was unseen until a while after. from evening out duties more to training apprentices to rationing food more carefully during leafbare, she was always doing something to make things a bit easier for everyone. this was much appreciated, but it came to show that there were some things she could not help. no amount of rationing could prevent hunger in a particularly harsh leafbare, as there was zero food when access to the water was blocked by a tail-length of solid ice and the ground was covered by countless tail-lengths of snow and prey didn't dare emerge from hiding. though her number of lives were kept a secret between pantherstar and the medicine cat, it was rumored that she lost a life trying to hunt for the clan, even in the impossible conditions, that winter. but rumors are fickle things, are they not? you never know what is truth and what is lie...
despite this, nothing in all of her moons prepared her for the flood.
suspicion, along with superstition, struck her hard upon hearing the prophecy that windclan proposed. she didn't want to whole-heartedly believe them, but was wary of ignoring them. besides, pulling a false prophecy seemed more shadowclan-esque than windclan, though she wasn't the biggest fan of using stereotypes as an excuse or motive. telling herself that it "wouldn't hurt" to move uphill a bit.
even though she had taken such a small action, she was taken aback by the fact that the flood actually happened. to this very day she regrets not doing more for her clan to prevent the horrible, watery deaths of those that she loved. she was charmed by windclan's hospitality, but the bottom of this charm quickly fell out as tensions rose. many of the riverclan cats longed for their old territory, and many of the windclan cats longed for their own solitude. these wants led to nothing but short tempers and many irritated expressions of disdain toward the other sides. pantherstar was not in favor of such disunity in such close proximity, but there was nothing she could do about it. besides, she herself felt bitterness toward the windclan cats and the loss of the home she loved so dearly. she tried her best not to place all of the blame on them, but wished that they had made more of a push to get the other clans to move to a safer altitude.
she now tries to keep her chin, as well as the spirits of her clanmates, up, as hope is one of the only things they have to hold onto. she idly tries to be a peacekeeper, but isn't exactly known for going out of her way to do so unless the safety of her clan is threatened. she looks ahead, and is always trying to find a way to get her clan back home.
Roleplay Sample Her paws fell, one in front of the other, as she padded through the shallow waters of the backwash shore, her small, slim body weaving through the tall reeds that surrounded their watery camp. An ethereal calm washed over her body, lapping at her conscience like the liquid in which she stood lapped at her paws. Yellow light, reaching through the reeds, dappled her fur. The whisper of the reeds brushing against one another in the breeze echoed in her ears, lulling her mind into a very sleepy, dozing state...
The harsh sounds of legs moving through water tore her from her half-conscious state, and her pale blue eyes were met by a yellow gaze.
"Beeblossom!" she exclaimed as her path of sight fell upon the tortoiseshell femme. She rushed out into the running water to meet her sibling halfway, burying her nose into her sister's pelt as she did so. Her chest exploded in a lovely bout of purring, and a smile graced her countenance. Happiness coursed through every fiber of her being, resonating in each loving purr in the comfort of her family.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, hold up! We're not having a great big family reunion without me, are we?" came a call, followed by a splash. A grey tom with a white muzzle and alabaster paws lunged into the water upstream, and began moving towards them with the current.
"Brother!"
The cry sounded like one, but actually emerged abruptly from two maws. The sounders of this call, Beeblossom and Pantherstar, pushed quickly against the current of the shallows to meet their brother halfway. Fond rumbling emerged from Dawnspring's form as he embraced his sisters, swiping his tongue over each of their pelts in turn. Nostalgia rolled over Pantherstar's mind, flitting about on agile limbs.
"I can't believe it's you guys! How have you been?" she inquired as they moved downstream, walking with their backs turned to the currents washing toward them. She did not turn her eyes to and fro until she her inquiries were met by replies of silence. As her gaze shifted, it was drawn suddenly behind her, not focusing on the cats she was searching for at the slightest. What was the terrible roar?
Water.
The ice! It had melted! The flood! It was coming! A wave of birds blocked out the sun above them momentarily, and in their wake followed a massive wave of toiling water, rushing toward them faster than Pantherstar could even begin to comprehend.
"Run!" came her panicked cry, but as she looked from side to side, she saw only collapsing skeletons being washed away by the current.
She had no time to scream as the wave swallowed her whole.
***
Breeze; dew, cats, sweat. Fur; ground, cats, sweat. Gaze; grass, cats, more cats. Tongue; blood, cats. Air; cats, more cats, crickets.
Slow down.
She could smell the scent of late-night and early-morning dew in the air, coupled with the flinch-worthy smell of her own sweat mingling with that of the other cats'. Her fur brushed up against that of her clanmates, and her paws were planted firmly on the cool, packed soil below her. She looked around to see the grass of the camp past the felines in which she was nestled about. Licking her dry mouth, she could taste the blood from her bitten tongue, and past the copper, the hair of the cat directly in front of her (blech! Oh, why, StarClan, whyyyy?). The air carried the burden of many sounds, but those it could not hold it dropped into her ears. Among these sounds were the collected whispers of breath on fur, and the melodies of crickets coming from all sides of the near distance.
She stepped gingerly over the breathing bodies around her, careful not to wake those she moved past. A sigh of relief slipped past her lips as she rid herself of the proximity of the sleeping group that was her clan. She padded out of camp, shaking her head. When did she go to sleep with the rest of the clan? After rapping her brain for a few moments, she remembered; for the familiar comfort. She had the feeling that she had dreamed something important or something particularly meaningful, but wasn't exactly sure what it was. Shrugging her shoulders, she walked for a bit more until she could not longer see the camp, and then sat down in the rolling grass, her gaze moving to the quarter moon that shone above.
She had an awful headache and wasn't sure why. She regretted sleeping among her warriors now; the heat must have been the cause of the throbbing pain that drove rocks into her skull. And that sound...? Oh. It was the dam.
The dam.
She winced as she suddenly remembered her dream. Pantherstar suddenly gasped for air, shuddering as sobs threatened to overtake her before she could hold them back. What a horrible nightmare. What horrid images comfort provoked in her mind.
"Dawnspring... Beeblossom..." she murmured, eyes clenching shut. She battled for control of her emotions, and within a few moments, did her best to calm herself and block out the noise of the dam that she despised so fully.
Her front legs extended, her paws sliding over the grass as she collapsed to the ground, burying her nose in the grass. She had slept almost through the night, but she still felt so tired. So ruined. So broken.
What would today hold, when she opened her steely-azure eyes to the sunlight? Already she could see the beginnings of dawn stroking the opposite end of the sky, banishing the distant stars from their perches. The sentinel of the night, the moon, was making its descent. In a matter of time, her day would officially begin, and the stress would weigh down her shoulders to the point of feeling like she could no longer move... But she could do nothing to brighten her future. Not now. And maybe not ever.
How would she make it through another day?
If only she knew the answer...

Name: Bluepool Age: 35 Moons Gender: Male Position: Medicine Cat Thoughts On The Living Situation: Bluepool doesn't really mind living with Windclan, and is glad that they have been generous enough to take them in. However, he misses Riverclan camp a lot, especially his den and his neatly-organized herb hollow. It drives him insane that the Medicine herb stock in Windclan is so disorganized, but he is trying to be respectful and not touch it without permission. He spends a lot of his time exploring Windclan Territory, looking for herbs to use, so other cats could think of him as a snoopy cat and suspect him of some misdeed or another. Personality: This is the personality that I have on his form (Found HERE): RP Sample: Bluepool picked some catmint from the place he had found by the overflowing river and trotted back to the Medicine Cat Den with it. Good thing that the water hadn't taken that patch of precious herb. It was never bad to have more catmint than one needed, especially during times like this. Even I don't know exactly what kind of sicknesses that standing water harbors. he thought with a shiver, and unconsciously shook a paw, to get rid of the non-present 'water', currently sticky and thick with gross green algae. And, to make things worse, the sun was so hot! That, coupled with the humidity, was almost unbearable. Most cats were hiding in whatever shade they could find, or jumping in the shallow, cleaner parts of the river. They're there, and I'm just wandering around out here, trying to get herbs as normal. Maybe I should go join them, once I get this catmint put away... Bluepool remembered when they had first gotten to Windclan camp. He had met the Medicine Cat and gotten to peek around in the den. The first thing that hit him (And annoyed him to death) was how disorganized everything was. The Herb Hollow was a complete disaster. But Bluepool had respect for these kind cats that were voluntarily housing them for an uncertain amount of time, so he had said nothing and just smiled. Then he realized how bare the hollow was. He had heard that a huge sickness had gone around Windclan that last Leaf-bare, but they hadn't requested any assistance with their herb stock, so he hadn't thought much about it. But now he was looking and really they didn't have that much. At least I have something to do, and a way to help Windclan back, now.And that was all he had been doing, ever since that first day: gathering as many herbs as he could, scrutinizing every inch of Windclan territory, memorizing where patches of herbs grew, monitoring growth, and picking herbs when they were in their prime. He had gotten Windclan's stock up by nearly half. If he was still in Riverclan Camp and nothing out of the ordinary had happened, he would feel neutral about this fact. But since he was doing Windclan a favor, it made him feel all good inside when he dropped yet another bundle of herbs at the Windclan Medicine Cat's feet and their eyes lit up. He approached the camp, and hunching himself down to get inside the bramble tunnel, he padded into the clearing. Not surprisingly, it was dead quiet except for the hum of grasshoppers. All the cats were out of the hot clearing; probably right now they didn't want to be within five feet of another cat, even the shorter-furred ones. Even Bluepool had to admit that it was way hotter than any day he had ever experienced, and he felt like he was about ready to die of heat exhaustion. But he kept himself going by telling himself he could have a break once he was done with this load. Even the Medicine Cat was gone to seek shelter, though it was a lot cooler here in the shaded den. The little bits of cool wind filtered through the walls of the den, making Bluepool feel all nice. He padded into the hollow, and he sighed as the cool hit his face. Maybe this was where he would spend the rest of the day. And while he was here, he would organize the stock, and get this eyesore out of the way... No. Bluepool checked himself. They have it all set up the way they want, And I'm not going to mess with that.He thought about it for a minute, and then shook his head. Alright. I'll do it. While I'm here, I might as well. He set the bundle of catmint he was carrying aside and started in on the task. <<
