thoughts on the living situation;(BEFORE CEDARSTAR'S DEATH)Dapplepaw thinks for a moment, tilting her head, and then gives a warm smile.
"I think some of the cats there are quite wonderful! Some are really nice... but some are a little bit mean. They glare at me and I don't know why..." She turns his gaze directly towards you.
"Do you know why? Well, either way, I think they should stay!" She gives a fond purr and returns to staring off into the distance.
(AFTER CEDARSTAR'S DEATH)Dapplepaw lowers her head and narrows her eyes, grimacing visibly.
"They got what was coming to them, but I don't think it's enough. I think we should send them back to their territory to let them drown." With this statement, she turns her back and tends to the herbs in the den in silence.
personality;(BEFORE CEDARSTAR'S DEATH)-innocent.This single word describes a lot of Dapplepaw's personality. She surprisingly blind to the evils of the world, despite being a ShadowClan cat. She knows about the flood, but thinks that the ThunderClan cats will be gone in a couple of days and that everything will be alright. She doesn't understand the tension between the Clans or why there is any problem with the ThunderClan cats staying there. But don't get her wrong; she's not stupid. She's merely blind to the problems around her, which gives the wrong impression. She is also extremely gullible.
-adores Cedarstar. If there's one cat that she looks up to and adores more than anything else in the world, it is Cedarstar. Those bright green eyes of her light up even more every time she sets her gaze upon the crimson feline. She thinks that the tom is "the best leader in the whole wide world" and that "he'll live forever and ever!". He is her biggest role model, and she makes it very clear. She tends to bombard him with endless, awe-filled questions and listens to his every command as if she'll die if she doesn't. When Cedarstar is around, nothing else is even there in Dapplepaw's mind.
-loves bugs.Along with her innocence comes with a love of butterflies and creepy crawlies that she hides form the rest of the Clan. Because of this, Dapplepaw has the tendency to stash butterfly-attracting flowers near the outside of the medicine den, but they are in small quantities and the flowers' own fragrance hides her own scent. She has a fascination with nature in general, but bugs in particular are her specialty. She is quite disappointed by the lack of 'pretty' bugs in their territory, and has always secretly wanted to visit the WindClan territory's grassy hills, where she is sure there are more butterflies and field bugs, as she is growing tired of the marsh and swamp bugs.
-kind.Along with her innocence comes an endless kindness and a very merciful generosity. It doesn't matter which Clan you are in or what kind of cat you are or pretty much anything else; if you're a cat, she'll welcome you with open legs and help you out with anything you need. She is always there for anyone that has problems, though she isn't the best listener, and she tends to interrupt with questions often.
-gullible.If you can get her to listen long enough without her being distracted by something else, she is extremely gullible and her opinions of things are changed very easily.
-has an amazing memory--except with names. For all of her spacey tendencies and her short attention span, she has an amazing memory. She can remember almost any scent she has smelled and any face she has seen and any voice she has heard. But! This cat cannot remember names to save her life. She has to use your name every day for a while in order to get used to it enough to remember it. The only cat whose name she can really remember is the medicine cat's and Cedarstar's; everyone else is usually distorted or completely wrong. For example, at the moment, she thinks that Jaggedtooth's name is Jaytooth or something of the like. Wait a few days without her being corrected and having to use it, though, and it'll be something like Jaybeak or just plain Jay. One of her most commonly-used and exasperating inquiries are 'who is that again?' when a name is mentioned. Many have learned to quickly bring up a coat color or general appearance after saying a name when in conversation with her.
All in all, Dapplepaw is still a kit at heart. Or, was.
(AFTER CEDARSTAR'S DEATH)Adjectives cannot even begin to describe her tumultuous personality after Cedarstar's death. Her mood began to shift without warning, and she went from the happy, innocent, cheerful being that she was to a more darker individual. She became quiet, thoughtful, calculating. Cunning. Sly. She fostered and fed a hate for the ThunderClan cats. The fire of her spite originated from the kindle fed to her as she looked up the body of her leader; ThunderClan did it! ThunderClan will pay! ThunderClan is the cause of this! She lost most of her innocence in the harrowing death of the most important and looked-up-to figure in her life.
Deep down she has retained her love for butterflies, but other bugs now disgust her. Her kindness stayed, but it no longer extended to anyone outside of the Clan. She remains neutral in the subject of WindClan and RiverClan, but despises ThunderClan with every ounce of her strength. She would rather kill a ThunderClan cat than look at them. Well, that's what she thinks, though she has always been a bit squeamish when it came to blood and it is still something she is trying to overcome.
She still believes that there is good in the world, and that there is hope for it, though, and can be optimistic and happy when she's not plagued by depressing thoughts. She just doesn't think that this good is in ThunderClan.
history; (I feel it is needed to explain a few things)
-dapplekit.Dapplekit's parents were dead before she could even open her eyes; a recent rain had turned a lot of the firmer areas of the territory into slop under their seemingly stable tops. Both sank too quickly and drowned. Or, that's what everyone has always said around the Clan...
Another queen took her in, and she never knew who her real parents were or what happened to them. She had always seen the pitying looks that were thrown her way, but was never sure why everyone seemed to sad for her. About a moon after Dapplepaw's birth, when the queen's kits became apprentices, she took it upon herself to shelter the kit from what had happened to her parents. She kept her in the queen's den at almost all times and barely let her out even into the center of the camp, and kept her away from the kits who knew of her parents' fate (which was most of them). This is most of the reason for her innocence. She made 'friends' with the little bugs that were in the den, and was always a little upset when her surrogate parent killed them.
Cedarstar visited her often, as he was the only individual other than the medicine cat and herself that the queen trusted to not say anything about Dapplepaw's parent's death, and it was then that she developed a deep adoration of him.
The queen had the medicine cat come into the den every once in a while to make sure that Dapplepaw was healthy, and it was through these visits that she became fond of medicine and plants. She was appointed the medicine cat apprentice after her excellent memory was made known.
-dapplepaw.Soon after she became the medicine cat apprentice, Cedarstar was killed. Her unstable views were quickly and easily influenced by the accusations of ThunderClan being the cause of his death, and she began to hate them with every fiber of her being. She discovered, on the night of Cedarstar's death, that she is made a bit queasy by blood, but now tries not to show it. She is always exposing herself to the crimson liquid in order to get over it.
rp sample; She blinked at the ThunderClan cats in the camp, quite oblivious to the tension their very presence was causing. She watched them curiously, intrigued by how different their way of life was from theirs. They walked differently, too. ShadowClan cats had always had a sort of more incognito stroll, slinking through the shadows. Most of the ThunderClan cats, though, walked with a more bold, comfortable step, though this gait was layered with caution as well. It was only natural, being in an enemy territory and living in such close proximity.
Dapplepaw stared for a couple of minutes before remembering the task at hand. She looked back down at the herbs at her paws.
What was I doing again...? Oh! She began sorting the plants again, mind elsewhere. As she finished, her attention was drawn by a butterfly, which had fluttered into the medicine den. She blinked, and then gave a wide smile, innocent eyes glowing with endless amusement. She gently batted her paw at the insect, but it danced away and out of the den. With a lovely, infatuated purr, and followed it, leaping around the edges of the camp after it and into the swamp, ignoring the glares that resulted from it.
Of course, there were so many better things she could be doing with her time, but it wasn't like she cared much. Right now, her only cares in the world involved keeping track of this cerulean, black-patterned butterfly pulling nifty little aerial stunts right in front of her eyes.
Her priorities shifted suddenly as she heard a yowl from Cedarstar, calling a meeting. Eyes glowing with excitement, she bounded back towards camp, eager to see her role model speak.
((Before-Cedarstar's-death-post... don't like it.))
Watch, for I draw near...
"Hark, allow my lyrics to flow into your ears!"
My thoughts are in shackles, prisoners of my mind.
