Appearance >>build: His body was made for a warrior. As a kit he would always be the one who won play fights and grew faster then the rest of the kits. At the age of three moons he was the size of a 6 moon old apprentice. His body is full of muscle that will never be used. Of course this isn't a bad thing, for if needed he could defend himself using the little battle training he will get. He is pretty good at knowing how to fight for a blind cat. He hopes this would never happen but, just in case, that muscle is there. Ternpaw legs are a bit longer then most cats but normal for his clan. He looks like any other Thunderclan cat, with a lean muscular body. Also to go alone with his long legs, he has a long tail. He has sharp nails and teeth, since they haven't been used much in his apprentice-hood. >>pelt: The first true day of winter. When you awake to see the shinning, crystally ground. Knowing the first snow had laid down a soft sheet over the world, hiding all the wonders its white hands. Trees, bare of leaves snaking their now white fingers toward your house. And the small amounts of awe that fill your body. Every freezing breeze sending small amounts of snow into the air that seemed to dance and spin before being welcomed back upon the ground. This is what Ternpaw pelt reminds me of, this wonderful white and shininess. How could such a blind cat have such wonderful fur? Ternpaw would never be able to hide in the dark, for the whiteness of his pelt. Though, his pelt isn't completely white. Upon his head he has two small black patches. One on the left side of his face above his eye, the other making up most of his left ear and slightly down the back of his head. Ternpaw fur is slightly on the longer side, though he wouldn't be considered a long haired cat. The fur on his chest is slightly longer then the rest >>eyes: Ternpaw is blind, causing his eyes to be two bright, blue, cloudy eyes. Some cats can't stand to look him in the face, though it doesn't matter much because he cannot see where they are looking. Many times you will not know where he is looking, for his eyes stare off into space. Before Ternpaw was blind, he had beautiful, crystal, blue eyes. Ternpaw head is of average shape and size. It fits his body perfectly. His ears are pink on the inside and very big, having long white tufts coming from the insides that protect them. His nose is very cute and bright pink which leads into his pink lips. His whiskers are white and very long. Since they are white they blind pretty much into his fur. Personality >>reasonable He takes a lot of time to decide things and think his options though. Now, this doesn't mean when hes caring for another cat. No this is when his choice is within his paws. He makes everything reasonable. Everything has a cause being it or a reason for being there. Its almost like he looks at things from another point of view. He sees everything twice and then knows how to act. >>optimistic The richer life is seeing the glass half full. Even though many bad things have happened in the short amount of time Ternpaw has been alive. He knows that his past doesn't equal his future. He can move on, yet still morn over the items in his life he has lost. He always thinks about what he can make happen, how it is his duty to cure the warriors that fight for his life. Even if he can't stand up for himself, he has a whole clan that will stand for his right to be alive. >>caring and honorable: A cry for help, a scream of pain, or a dying cat's last breath, and you can be sure that Ternpaw stands near the body, his ice blue eyes calculating, his face completely sadden. When he doctors his patients, his voice is sweet, caring as he tells them straight-forward what to eat when and when to sleep. When he delivers the death sentence, remaining silent as the cat cries out and nuzzles their loved ones, telling them through barely concealed tears that they are dying. He though, like any good medicine cat can remain motionless or knows when bravery is in order. Fighting to save any loyal warrior who falls to the ground from hunger or thirst from a hard winter day. >>jealously : Even though he would never admit it. He holds jealously over all the other cats in his clan. He wishes he could use his muscles in the way the other cats could. To run and hunt and battle without having to worry about falling or running into something. To let his muscles burn with the lenght of running through the forest. All these things make him jealous of others. For him, its often hard to hold back his jealously. Which comes to him in burst of anger. He often deals with these bursts by sinking himself in his herb piles and staying away from others. >>dealing with blindness: Being half blind is more trouble then it seems. He now often runs into other cats when not listening or deciding something in his head. Or even runs into walls or trees. The only time Ternpaw can truly see is when getting dreams from Starclan. He never minds the far walks to the Moonstone, for he gets to see the world around him. He knows many places in the Clan's land just by the tips of his paws. Though, still trips over then a lot. All these things makes Ternpaw himself. He never asks for help, or lets others treat him like he's special for him blindness. If he simply bumps into someone, he says sorry and that its his fault. He has learned to learn his surroundings quickly and be wise about each step. He learned cats from how their paw steps fall and their scents. For him, its a natural thing now to be blind. Some cats can't deal with the truth of their blindness, and he has and he treats it as though its a challenge he was put through to show his worth. History Ternkit was born into a litter of one. He and his mother were very close for this reason. He got his name for his two black spots and being all white. His mother had seen a tern once before and loved how it was mostly white with darker wings. He was very happy and healthy, with a mother who spoiled him. He was outgoing, playful and very easy to get along with, just like any other kit. However, he always won play-fights and he grew pretty big during his first two moons. Icefeather was the perfect mother - a gorgeous, happy, playful she-cat that scolded Ternkit gently and never beat him. Ternkit loved his mother with a deep, burning love that carried on into his apprenticeship. She was his world, and he was always grateful for her. While other toms drifted from their mothers and eventually became more attached to their fathers, Ternpaw never did. His mother was his hero. His father, however, was a different story. Firegaze was not exactly a model father. He did not love Icefeather - he had courted her when they were both young, foolish apprentices, though this was prohibited in the Clans. He had loved her once, but after discovering that Icefeather was pregnant, he ran, not wanting to be discovered for having kits when apprentices. Firegaze was never one for rules, and did not mind breaking them, but within himself he was a coward and did not want to get caught, despite 'loving' Icefeather. After Ternkit was born, Firegaze pretty much abandoned the mother and son pair. He disclaimed Ternpaw as his son, and Icefeather, ashamed and heartbroken, told no one that he was the father. Icefeather told Ternpaw of his father at a young age - she and he were very close, and she did not want him wondering who his father was. However, she told Ternkit to never tell anyone who his father was, and to this day he has not. A moon after his birth the rivers swelled and filled. Becoming so full that the water ran over it's banks and flooded the area around it. Riverclan was it's main victim, yet Thunderclan was still in it's path. It took over the land of both territories. Ternkit, his mother and the rest of thunderclan had to travel to safe land. He was carried in his mother's mouth the whole way. Ternpaw was five moons old when his mother became sick. The little snow white kit was only days away from his apprentice ceremony when he awoke one night to hear his mother coughing. It sounded so horrible, like she was drowning. Ternkit hadn't a clue what to do, and quickly went to the Medicine Cats den. In the middle of the night when you rush into their den, they know something is wrong. Swanfeather, a tom who took up the medicine cat's path quickly followed the small kit to the nursery. Swanfeather made him stand back as he looked over his mother. Ternkit remained motionless, watching them from squinted blue eyes. Something did not feel right. Ternkit felt uneasiness grow into dread. The medicine cat could only give her poppy seeds for the pain and some honey to try and sooth the she-cat's cough. Ternkit curled up by his mother and slept next to her all night. For the next moon, his mother was ill. She was confined to the medicine cat's den and Ternpaw was free to roam. He once got out of camp and started exploring. Becoming tired he came upon a puddle that was still be dried up from the flooding. He drank the water but found it had a weird taste. He went back to camp, ignoring the taste that was still on his tongue. As he arrived the medicine cat was looking for him. Ternkit wasn't ready for this news. He thought the tom was going to yell at him for leaving camp. No, his mother had passed away. He could only morn over his mothers body, stuffing his face into her pelt, only the Medicine cat being able to drag him away. Soon the medicine cat realized Ternkit was sick. He had been throwing up a lot and passed out once. His vision in his left eye was fading and his right eye was okay, but not like it use to be. He was taken into his den and cared for but nothing could stop his vision from leaving. In a weeks time, Ternkit was completely blind in his left eye and could only see sometimes though his right. Swanfeather soon realized this and talked to the leader. The young tom was made into a medicine cat apprentice. He wasn't happy at all about it. The leader realized that a half blind cat wouldn't be the best choice for a warrior and would need a lot of attention to be trained. With the trouble between Shadowclan and the flooding, it would be hard to train him like he needed. As an apprentice, Ternpaw was often upset and didn't listen to his mentor. He barely put any effort into healing cats and was often in his own 'world'. He never payed attention. One day, while walking along the moorland that held Thunderclan cat, he heard a funny sound. Of course he would never had known what was happening, but of cause he crept towards it, trying to figure what it was. "Ternpaw, is that you? He wasn't sure he knew the voice, but if the cat knew his name he would help. He quickly went to the cat, only to have the scent of blood fill his nose. He found out she small she-cat had been hunting and slipped and fell into a rabbit hole. He quickly took her back to camp, and cared for the she-cat till she was back to a healthy state. This accident lead him to believe it was time to follow his rightful path as a medicine cat. He realized that for some horrible reason, Starclan cursed him with blindness to follow that path. Roleplay Sample (This is from another site, same cat) A snow white blur stepped into the clearing of Windclan. His tail slightly dragging across the ground. His head hanging to the ground as his paws felt the ground in front of him before each step. He called this place his home, though, already forgot the small details. He knew to the left of him, the silent bodies of the warrior's made their home in a small dent in the ground, and the apprentices next to them. And too his right his leader slept in a small rustic tree which roots housed the elders. He knew the Medicine Cat's den the best, for that is where he slept. It was an old rabbit's den, or so he was told. Breakheart wasn't in there, or perhaps he was in the back sleeping, but either way Ternpaw saw no point in staying. He couldn't sleep, and the wind of the night's air comforted him. He stretched his neck upward, looking toward the black night. Though, for him it actually was black. He couldn't focus his eye on the twinkling lights that made up Starclan. His eyes, like the ice the covers clear blue streams, slowly shut. In his mind he saw the stars, but those memories would only last a few moons. He let out a small sigh, his breath swirling and joining with the small breeze that set in over Windclan. He couldn't help but feel the burning come to his eyes. The burning he felt a lot since his mother died. He couldn't help but wonder if his mother made it to Starclan, or if she was looking down upon him. He still cried at nights, he could feel his face getting wet as he dropped his head to the ground. He didn't actually have sleeping problems, but never felt like sleeping. He could hear the soft thud of his tear hitting the ground. He missed his mother very much, she was his best friend. Now, now he was stuck with the Medicine cat who he didn't really know, and what he has heard of him. He heard he was a mean cat, well not mean but didn't care. He wasn't sure yet, he had only just moved into the den as his apprentice. He wanted someone who would care for him, someone who would hold him and tell him everything was okay. He wanted his mother to walk into Windclan camp and wrap her tail around him. Just like she use to do when he was a kit. But that would never happen, and Ternpaw knew it. It was a hopeless dream, but he still felt the need to dream it. He pointed his nose back up, softly whispering to his mother. "Mother, If you can hear me, I miss you. I don't understand why you had to die the way you did. I hope I get to see you again." He wiped his tail over his face, he didn't want to any cat seeing him crying. Ternpaw's ears perked backwards. He heard paw's steps coming toward him, but they weren't normal. It was almost as the cat was hopping on three paws. He sat up, he hated being blind, not knowing in your own camp if the cat was of your clan. He felt the cat get closer but realized they came out of the Medicine cat den. 'It must be Breakheart', He thought to himself. 'Though, why is he hopping on three paws?' Ternpaw knew from enough knowledge that his mentor had four paws. Maybe he was hurt and was coming to get Ternpaw, but he would had said something by now. Right? Ternpaw was confused, and turned his head toward his mentor. His eyes now dry from tears as the thoughts of his mother were pushed from his mind.
